This folktale will envelope the presentations into a narrative where facts, fiction, characters and presenters mingle and establish a dialog among themselves. For the last month I have been working for FREE?! No no, it hasn't been for free, as in underpaid creative labor, but rather free, as in free speech (or beer?).
FREE?! is a one day event, happening at Het Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam, the 29th of November. It will be a day dedicated to Free Culture, that promises to immerse the audience in Free Culture, and its many interpretations, misinterpretations, possibilities, impracticalities, hopes, dreams, disillusions that surround it.
My involvement in the project concerns the evening event, Winter Night’s Copyright Fairytale.
This peculiar event will consist on a four hour long series of lectures and performances, with several participants delivering their perspective, work, and anecdotes on free culture.
