Mei said the trend of Chinese entrepreneurs setting up base in Singapore as a beachhead for Southeast Asia, was likely to bring capital and new business opportunities in sectors such as digital media and gaming.

SINGAPORE, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Southeast Asia's digital media and tech sectors, underpinned by young consumers and one of the fastest growing internet markets, had drawn U.S.
investment bank Raine Group to expand in the region, senior executives said.

Britain's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said earlier this month the takeover of the videogame publisher maker could hurt competition in gaming consoles, subscription services and cloud gaming if Microsoft refused to give competitors access to Activision's best-selling games.

Rutgers scored on its opening possession for the third consecutive game, with quarterback Noah Vedral running for a 21-yard touchdown. Vedral, who played for Nebraska in 2018 and '19, had 160 yards of total offense but connected on just 6 of 15 passes.

Ravitch, a former Goldman Sachs banker for 16 years, before he co-founded Raine in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, expects increased cross-border deals in the region, home to about 650 million people.

Nebraska snapped a six-game losing streak in road or neutral-site games, temporarily moving into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten's West Division. Rutgers absorbed its 21st consecutive home loss in conference play.

"This is the last major market in the world, where you can see a free for all between Alibaba, Tencent, Bytedance on one hand, and the likes of Amazon, pkvgames Apple, Facebook and Netflix on the other," said Joe Ravitch, Raine's co-founder and partner.

"The scarcity of capital in an era of volatility, rising interest rates and inflation, will create investment opportunities and require companies to be more strategic," Ravitch told Reuters in an interview on the sidelines of the Forbes Global CEO Conference.

Sept 15 (Reuters) - Britain's antitrust watchdog said on Thursday it would launch an in-depth probe into Xbox maker Microsoft's $69-billion purchase of "Call of Duty" maker Activision Blizzard after the tech giant failed to offer remedies to soothe competition concerns.

"Today I have received the final report from the external review of the Queensland operations of The Star Entertainment Group from the Honourable Robert Gotterson KC," Ms Fentiman said in a statement on Friday.

Thompson's 27-yard touchdown pass to Trey Palmer with 8:54 left was the game-winner.
The score came one play after Myles Farmer intercepted Rutgers quarterback Evan Simon, who was picked off three times in the second half.

Reuters previously reported that Microsoft would pay a $3 billion break-up fee if the deal falls through, according to a source familiar with the matter, suggesting the company was confident of winning antitrust approval.

The Nebraska defense held Rutgers (3-3, 0-3) to 85 yards in the second half after allowing 263 in the opening half. The Scarlet Knights had one last chance, getting the ball at their own 20-yard line with 1:03 to go, but Simon was intercepted by Malcolm Hartzog near midfield three plays later.

Games developers, publishers and distributors were asked whether the deal would affect their bargaining power regarding the terms for selling console and PC games via Microsoft's Xbox and its cloud game streaming service Game Pass.

The questionnaire, with about 100 questions, asked which of the rivals such as Nvidia's GeForce Now, Sony's Playstation, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna and Facebook Gaming could be considered the most attractive following the deal.

The EU competition enforcer also asked if Activision's trove of user data would give the U.S. software giant a competitive advantage in the development, publishing and distribution of computer and console games, the EU document shows.

Regulators also wanted to know if there would be sufficient alternative suppliers in the market following the deal and also in the event Microsoft decides to make Activision's games exclusively available on its Xbox, its Games Pass and its cloud game streaming services.

BRUSSELS, Oct 6 (Reuters) - EU antitrust regulators are asking games developers whether Microsoft will be incentivised to block rivals' access to "Call of Duty" maker Activision Blizzard's best-selling games, according to an EU document seen by Reuters.
They asked if such exclusivity clauses would reinforce Microsoft's Windows operating system versus rivals, and whether the addition of Activision to its PC operating system, cloud computing services and game-related software tools gives it an advantage in the video gaming industry.
